Business Description: |
Latitude is the largest non-bank unsecured consumer lender in Australia and New Zealand and offers credit cards, sales finance, personal loans and auto loans. The company has 2.1 million customers and more than 470 merchant partners across 6,000 geographic locations.
Latitude’s merchant partners include major retailers across a range of living and lifestyle categories, providing Latitude with scale and distribution for its products. Latitude’s lending products are also distributed by a network of over 5,000 accredited brokers in Australia and New Zealand.
Latitude has a long history in financial services since Australian Guarantee Corporation (‘AGC’), one of Latitude’s predecessor businesses, was founded in the 1920s, providing finance for purchasing household items. Latitude traces its recent history to acquisitions made by GE in Australia and New Zealand, including the Coles Myer store card, Nissan Finance, Avco Financial (including Hallmark Insurance) and AGC.
In 2015, a consortium consisting of KKR, Värde Partners and Deutsche Bank acquired the business from GE, and the organisation was renamed Latitude Financial Services. On 20 April 2021, Latitude listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX).
Today, the Latitude business provides a range of credit cards, sales finance, personal and auto loans and its brands include Gem Visa, GO Mastercard, 28° Global, David Jones cards as well as personal loans and motor loans1 in Australia and New Zealand. Headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, Latitude employs approximately 760 FTE staff as at 30 June 2024.
1Motor loans are not offered in New Zealand. Personal loans are used for this purpose.
